International climate research project posts on science film I made
Always wanted to know how to prepare a leaf for analysis under a microscope, to be able to collect data for climate reconstruction? No? Yes?
I made an in depth university student level educational video – which is also enjoyable to watch if you are just curious about what happens in a university lab. To see the movements behind the knowledge, so to speak.
Watch the video here:
I was happy to hear that a science communicator took it upon herself to publish a blog post about the video. Based on my interview with Astrid and preparations with Hugo, she wrote up the method featured in the film, so it also exists as a ‘recipe’. May many a beautiful microscopic image be realised based on these tutorials!
This lab protocol is part of a large international research project called LEMONTREE. The video was made in collaboration with Dr. Hugo de Boer and Astrid Odé, MSc among others at Utrecht University.
